Container image too large ¶

When trying to upload a container, I get the error: The container image is too large, please reduce the size by optimizing the layers of the container image. This seems strange to me, especially since the image is only 449,3 MB and earlier I was able to upload a 3 GB image which did not give errors. Does someone know what's going on here and how I can fix it.
